Shipra Travels Celebrating 17 Years! Look How Far We’ve Come.

17 years. 204 months. Countless travel plans. And probably enough chai to fill a swimming pool. Okay, maybe we haven’t counted the chai.

But we have counted the years, and 17 of them have gone by doing what we genuinely enjoy. We love being part of people’s travel plans and helping turn “We should go there someday” into “Okay, tickets booked!”

The travel industry has also changed a lot along the way, and so have we as a travel agency serving Panchkula, Chandigarh, and Mohali. We’ve learned, adapted, improved, and kept going. Because every traveler, every destination, and every trip brings something new.

Now, as Shipra Travels celebrates its 17th anniversary, we’re thankful to you. Truly. 

Because none of these celebrations would have happened if it weren’t for “you.”

Okay, Rewind. Where Did This All Begin?

Well, obviously, there was a year one. Back in 2009, Shipra Travels began with a simple idea: make travel planning easier for people who wanted to explore without getting buried under a mountain of planning.

From there, things started moving. More travelers across Panchkula, Chandigarh, and Mohali. More destinations. More holiday plans.

What started small gradually grew into a trusted travel agency helping people plan domestic and international holidays, find suitable packages, and put together trips that fit what they actually wanted. And now we’re here.

“Celebrating 17th Anniversary”

Not bad for a beginning that probably didn’t come with a crystal ball saying, “Don’t worry, you’ll still be doing this in 2026.”

Now Travel Industry Has Changed. A LOT.

Today, you can discover a destination on Instagram, watch tours on YouTube, check reviews, compare options, and probably know more about a place before leaving home.

But, 17 years ago, planning a holiday was nothing like it. There’s no doubt technology has made travel planning easier. But it has also given us a lot more confusion. For example, Which hotel? Which area? How many days? What’s actually included? etc. 

So knowing which options actually make sense for your trip can change the entire experience. And having a reliable travel agency just a phone call away can make that part much easier. You get the options. You get the answers. And you don’t have to figure everything out alone.

After All These, We’ve Learned A Thing Or Two, Actually 17

We have been doing this for 17 years. And now, we’ve got a good grasp over how different travelers actually plan and experience a trip. Here are 17 things travel has taught us

1. The cheapest trip isn’t always the best trip.
2. A good itinerary needs breathing room.
3. What’s included matters.
4. Hotel location can change the whole experience.
5. Every family travels differently.
6. Parents often need a different pace.
7. Honeymoons shouldn’t feel rushed.
8. Kids need breaks too.
9. A little flexibility can make a big difference.
10. Local experiences are often the memories people keep.
11. Leave room for the unexpected. Sometimes the best part of a trip isn’t on the itinerary.
12. Ask questions before paying.
13. Read what your package actually includes.
14. A good travel plan should fit the traveler.
15. Sometimes changing one day can improve the whole itinerary.
16. The best trips aren’t always the most expensive.
17. And occasionally the hardest part of traveling is simply deciding to go.

17 years of saying we’re good at travel planning would be a little boring. Thankfully, we have a few things to show for it.

Shipra Travels received the Brands Academy Award for Best Domestic Travel Agents in Chandigarh in 2011-2012, an early recognition of the work we were already putting into travel planning and customer service.

That was a solid achievement for a company that was still quite young at the time.
